Accessing the ultimate circle of success requires understanding, persistence, and knowledge. What is a circle of excellence? There’s two kinds of circles of excellence that are used through NLP training or coaching, however these circles can be used for any model of success whether it’s fitness, personal, business or even in your day-to-day routines. The first and most commonly used circle of excellence is the classic circle, the second circle is a more in depth version of the classic circle, the ultimate circle.

These circles are used when training or coaching, the intention behind them is to create alignment between yourself and your goals through accessing subconscious senses - sight, smell and touch. Using the power of imagination to access the system creates a deep sense of visualisation and places you in a state of trance, making it easier to access your markers to success.

The classic circle of excellence

The classic circle has been used for decades across all forms of NLP training. However it is less effective when working with hypnotists as they tend to over analyse the process.

When accessing the circle of power you need or follow these steps with attention to be able to have the full effect.

The ultimate circle of excellence

Is much like the classic circle of excellence but just more in depth and in detail.

Step 1
Identifying the powerful state.

When stepping into the circle of power, it’s essential to identify your personal state of success. What feelings would you like to have more of? (Confidence, motivation, dedication etc.) Think about a specific state of being where you felt at your most powerful, energetic, motivated, confident or satisfied, this could have been during a great presentation, or when you were doing a show that you felt really good about or even a state that you would classify as being at your best. Think of your most proud achievements or accomplishments and how it made you feel. Imagine these feelings inside the circle.

Step 2
Set up the circle of power

Once you’ve reached the feeling of wholesome satisfaction, imagine a circle on the floor in front of you, step into the circle, when you do this, think about the shape of the circle, the color, the size, maybe even a smell that will help you create a more vigorous circle to step into. Is the circle moving? What does it smell like? What does it sound like? Is there music or a soundtrack? These elements of the circle make it easier for you to revert back and ground yourself through the markers and feelings you have identified for yourself.

Make sure that these scenarios or states are context based.

Step 3
Access the circle of power and anchor

When you’ve had your client identify their feeling of resourcefulness and motivation, step into the circle. Finding an anchor is important when stepping back into and accessing the circle of power. Once they've identified their feelings and state of satisfaction, have them step back into the circle, continuing to visualise their state of motivation, satisfaction, dedication, achievement etc., and once they step back in the circle of power, have them imagine sending those feelings and achievements right down to the bottom of the circle.

Step 4
Separator State/Testing

Stepping into the circle and relaxing. This step is another anchor step that requires a deep sense of satisfaction and relaxation. As you or the client step back into the circle, continue to relate sub-modalities, repeat this step a couple of times (2-3) and step in and out of the circle, remember you can add feelings and achievements or goals as you step in and out, continuing to send those feelings downwards to your circle and anchoring.

If you want to take time out now to test the above steps you can do that with your eyes closed. Focus on creating your circle, imagine it on the floor in front of you, breathe in deeply while choosing your feelings and accessing your state of power, think of the feelings you want and the most satisfying moments in your life or career that you want more of. Once you’ve done that, take a deep breath and step into the circle, exhale while sending those feelings down into the circle and anchoring them, remember to identify the color, shape, size and sound of your circle.

Step 5
Desired context

‘From this point on, whenever I touch your shoulder, I want you to anchor’. Anchoring is going back to your state of satisfaction, those feelings and achievements are your anchors. Tell your client to think of a scenario in the future that they deeply desire, whether it’s a show they want to do or an upcoming event, presentation, or talk that is in their calendar or something that they would like to have more of. A state or feeling of resourcefulness. Every time you touch their shoulder, this should be the state that they’re accessing and anchoring to the circle

Step 6
Chaining

Talk to them about how they want to get there, have them think about that, think about a scenario or stuck situation and use that as another anchor when they step into their circle of power.

Step 7
Break state and test

Once you’ve tested these steps and gone through them with your client a few times, have them step out of the circle and relax. At this point it’s important to take note of their non-verbal responses as they return to a normal state to ensure that there was a shift in perception.

You can add a soundtrack or music to your circle to give it a more personal touch, a “get up and go” song that will motivate you when you access your circle of power.

Remember, keep it simple! The only easy day was yesterday.
